Foster Homes Needed!

Are you looking at all these adorable faces and wishing you could take them all home? Have you ever considered fostering?!

Fostering is a great way to help us and the dogs out, and it can be as short or long term as you'd like! We work with you to make sure you get a dog you will enjoy, and we also strive to make sure it's as easy of a process as we can make it.

Taking home a new dog is never flawless... they will have accidents, they will bark in the crate, they are stressed and high energy the first few days making you question why you chose to do this. Hang in there with them, and it pays off. Usually within 3 days they settle in. We work to find a dog that is a good fit for what traits you are seeking in a foster dog.

Fostering requires you to commit to training, exercising, and care for the dog. It can be anywhere from 1 week-several months, depending on the dog. The average period of time is 2-3 weeks. We provide the food and crate, and vet visits when pre-approved by us beforehand. We do not cover vet bills we did not approve ahead of time.

If the dog is not working out, we require a 5 day minimum notice to find a new place. The more time the better, please. We do have back up fosters for things like emergencies, planned trips, etc. It's a great thing to do for a dog. It quite honestly means the difference between life and death.

Name: Emme
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Large
Description: Some dogs shout for attention. Emme whispers. This soft, soulful Shepherd mix (about 1–2 years old, 50 lbs) doesn’t push her way to the front—she gently crawls into your lap and melts into your arms like she was made to be there. With a heart as big as her eyes, Emme has quickly become a shelter favorite, stealing hearts with her quiet kindness and deep longing for connection. Shelter life isn’t for Emme with all the chaos and alone time and she is desperately hoping a foster steps up for her quickly. She is good with other dogs and seems to want to play but isn’t quite sure how to initiate it. Being in a shelter setting we don’t know if she is housetrained but she does keep her kennel clean. She is overall a quieter girl though she has the saddest, sweetest howl that makes you want to give her everything in the world just to make her happy.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Name: Hennessy
Breed: Husky/ Shepherd Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Description: Hennessy is a gorgeous husky/shepherd girl, about 10 months old, who is all about adventure and fun. She loves other dogs and loves to play with them, loves to go for walks, and is happiest when she has something to do or a toy in her mouth. Once she is tired out though, she is quite the snuggler too! Hennessy fancies herself a lap dog and doesn’t even mind being picked up despite not being lap dog sized in the slightest. She is silly, sweet, and oh so wonderful.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Name: Hurricane
Breed: Lab/ Shepherd Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Large
Description: Hurricane is a Lab/Shepherd mix, about 8 months old who leads with his heart in every situation and has no idea he is a big boy. He is nothing but love and joy. He runs around with pure abandon and gives his heart completely to everyone he meets. Hurricane loves other dogs but can be overwhelming for more mellow or smaller dogs. No cats for him please though! Hurricane spent a lot of time existing on his own in a yard before so he is learning all about being in the house and he is loving the attention and being with his people. Housetraining is going well and he crates nicely for the workday. He is smart even if sometimes engaging his brain is low on his priority list. Hurricane is the true embodiment of love in a big furry body.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Name: Rusty
Breed: Lab/Pit Bull Mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Large
Description: Rusty is a middle-aged Lab/Pit Bull mix who does not understand how he landed himself in the shelter. Quite frankly, we don’t either. This guy is wonderful! At about 7 years old he is well past the crazy puppy stages and settled into being a well-mannered, housetrained, cratetrained but doesn’t need it and prefers to be loose in the house, easy to live with type guy. He absolutely loves to go for walks and when you pull his leash out he turns right back into a puppy with excitement. He walks well on the leash after an initial bout of excitement pulling and knows basic commands. Rusty has lived with dogs and cats and does well with all. He is loving and friendly to all people. We can’t say enough good things about Rusty. He isn’t flashy in looks, he isn’t a cute little puppy anymore, but he’s got years and years of experience being a good boy to share with a forever home.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Name: Smeargle
Breed: Lab Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Large
Description: Smeargle is a 9 month old lanky Lab mix with giant ears that look like he could fly. He can’t fly but his ears are excellent for petting and whispering secrets into. Like a good best friend he won’t tell those secrets either. Smeargle can confirm he is an excellent secret keeper. In fact he is such a good secret keeper he isn’t telling who stole the loaf of bread off the counter, him or his foster brother though we suspect this might be less about secret keeping and more about pleading the fifth. Smeargle is a loveable goofball. He loves to play with toys, loves to play with other dogs, and is interested but respectful of the cats and when one smacked him he wanted nothing more to do with it. He is finishing up learning the housetraining and crates well for the workday. He loves walks and playtime and is looking for an active home that wants to include him in all sorts of fun times.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.
