Foster Homes Needed!

Are you looking at all these adorable faces and wishing you could take them all home? Have you ever considered fostering?!

Fostering is a great way to help us and the dogs out, and it can be as short or long term as you'd like! We work with you to make sure you get a dog you will enjoy, and we also strive to make sure it's as easy of a process as we can make it.

Taking home a new dog is never flawless... they will have accidents, they will bark in the crate, they are stressed and high energy the first few days making you question why you chose to do this. Hang in there with them, and it pays off. Usually within 3 days they settle in. We work to find a dog that is a good fit for what traits you are seeking in a foster dog.

Fostering requires you to commit to training, exercising, and care for the dog. It can be anywhere from 1 week-several months, depending on the dog. The average period of time is 2-3 weeks. We provide the food and crate, and vet visits when pre-approved by us beforehand. We do not cover vet bills we did not approve ahead of time.

If the dog is not working out, we require a 5 day minimum notice to find a new place. The more time the better, please. We do have back up fosters for things like emergencies, planned trips, etc. It's a great thing to do for a dog. It quite honestly means the difference between life and death.

Size: Medium

She is a shyer girl at first but put her with another dog and she is all about playing and her confidence skyrockets. She would absolutely love a home with another dog to help build her confidence in the world. Cabbi is a total sweetheart. She loves to snuggle once she knows you and will toss toys around and chase them down delighting in the simple joys in life. She is in a shelter setting so housetraining is unknown but she keeps her kennel clean as best she can. Cabbi would love to leave the shelter and move on to a home ASAP.

Name: Locust
Breed: Lab Mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male
Size: Large when fully grown
Description: Locust is a young Lab mix who is everything people love about Labs. He is outgoing, loves everyone, great with dogs and loves to play, doesn’t mind the kitties, and has the puppy zest for life! He found himself in jail after being found on his own and no one came to claim him. Someone lost a treasure in this pup! He is everything a well-socialized, stable pup should be. He is a typical puppy so a forever home should prepare for all the puppy fun, socialization, training, and everything takes to make a puppy into the best dog they can be. We highly recommend training classes to set everyone up for success. Housetraining and cratetraining have been started but expect to continue working on it. Puppies can hold their bladders on average for 1 hour more than their age in months (ex: 3 month old puppy should be able to hold it about 4 hours). Puppies play hard, sleep hard, and love hard. The puppy stage can be tough but so worth it!

Requirements: Training sign up recommended

Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Breed: Husky
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Description: Mazzie is a Husky found as an unclaimed stray and not reclaimed. We can’t imagine someone not wanting this girl! She is excellent with dogs and adores all people. She does think cats are a bit too fun to chase so needs a cat free home. She is surprisingly quiet for a husky though sometimes will give a quiet woo-woo for attention. She is housetrained and used to being crated for the workday. Mazzie is truly as beautiful in personality and she is in looks. She is laid-back but never turns down a romp in the snow or a walk! She is about 45 lbs and 4 years old.

Requirements: No special requirements

Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.

Name: Teddy

Age: Puppy
Sex: Male
Size: Large when fully grown
Description: Teddy is a 5 month old Labradoodle surrendered by a home that loved him but knew that he needed more than they could give him. He is such a fabulous puppy! He loves everyone he meets immediately and without hesitation. He is good with other dogs and fine with cats. He is doing very well on his housetraining and crates perfectly for the workday. Teddy is a snuggler and loves to cuddle! He also loves toys, walks, and being silly just like any puppy. He is still a puppy so his home should plan for continued training and socialization to keep shaping him into the best dog he can be. Teddy is expected to be a large sized dog as an adult. Doodles have high maintenance coats and her adopters will need to commit to brushing multiple times a week and grooming professionally every 6-8 weeks.
